I usually try to take a shower in the lounge before a long-haul flight. Even if I shower at home before heading to the airport, walking through the terminal with luggage often leaves me feeling a bit sweaty. A quick shower right before boarding makes a noticeable difference in how comfortable I feel during the flight.
Ahead of my 15-hour flight from Toronto to Incheon, I stopped by the Maple Leaf Lounge at Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ) to freshen up before boarding.

How to Use the Maple Leaf Lounge Shower
After entering the lounge, I asked the reception staff if I could use the shower. They handed me a shower room key along with a door tag.
In my case, the lounge staff kept my boarding pass at the reception desk while I used the shower room.
I was assigned Shower Room No. 1. From what I could see, there appeared to be two shower rooms in this section.
My flight was departing in about an hour, and fortunately there was no wait. During busier periods, however, you may need to wait around 20 to 30 minutes.
Inside the Shower Room
After hanging the “In Use” tag on the door handle and unlocking the door, I stepped inside.
The room includes a sink, a toilet, and a separate shower booth. There is also a stool near the sink and a space to hang clothes on the wall. The room felt surprisingly spacious for an airport lounge shower. There was enough room to move around comfortably even with carry-on luggage.
Everything was very clean and well maintained. The floor was dry and the sink area was spotless.
One feature I liked was the built-in closet space with hangers. It made it easy to hang clothes before taking a shower, which is especially useful if you’re traveling for business.
There are also grab bars installed near the toilet and inside the shower, which helps make the room more accessible.
Amenities and a Small Surprise
At the sink area, there were basic amenities such as hand soap and hand cream. Inside the shower booth, there were dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
One thing I noticed was that the hair dryer was not inside the shower room. If you need one, you have to request it from the reception desk. Fortunately, I hadn’t started showering yet, so I walked back to reception to ask for a hair dryer and a dental kit with a toothbrush and toothpaste.
It wasn’t a big issue, but it’s something worth remembering if you plan to use the shower.
Water Pressure and Temperature
The water pressure felt comfortable. It wasn’t extremely strong, but it was definitely not weak either.
The water temperature was warm, though not quite as hot as I personally prefer. Still, it was more than good enough for a quick shower before boarding.
The shampoo and body products were from Molton Brown. The scent was subtle and clean, and overall the shower felt refreshing after moving around the airport.

Overall, the Maple Leaf Lounge shower at Toronto Pearson Airport was clean, spacious, and comfortable.
The only minor inconvenience was having to request a hair dryer separately, but aside from that the experience was smooth.
I used the shower before boarding Air Canada flight AC61 from Toronto to Seoul, a flight that takes more than 15 hours. Starting such a long journey feeling refreshed definitely helped.
If I need to take a shower at Toronto airport again in the future, I would gladly use this lounge again.
