L YOUNG Inn Capsule Hotel Myeongdong is an affordable capsule hotel located right next to Chungmuro Station, just one subway stop away from Myeongdong. I stayed here one night last month.
Although the hotel name includes “Myeongdong,” the property is actually located just a 1-minute walk from Chungmuro Station. From here, Myeongdong Station is only one stop away on Subway Line 4, making it extremely convenient for travelers who want to explore central Seoul.

Location & Hotel Essentials
🕒 Check-in: 15:00 | Check-out: 11:00
📍 Address: 8 Chungmu-ro, Jung District, Seoul, South Korea
🌐 Booking Site ↗
The hotel is literally a 1-minute walk from Exit 7 of Chungmuro Station.
Chungmuro is a very convenient subway hub because it connects:
- Line 3 – useful for visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace and Anguk
- Line 4 – direct access to Myeongdong and Seoul Station
This makes the hotel a surprisingly practical base for exploring Seoul.
A Perfect Choice for Solo Travelers

L YOUNG Inn is a capsule hotel designed for solo travelers. Compared to a typical dormitory-style hostel, it offers far better privacy while still keeping the price very affordable.
I checked prices on both Trip.com and Agoda, and Agoda was slightly cheaper for my dates, so I ended up booking through Agoda. For under 50,000 KRW (around USD 35–40) per night, this can be a very reasonable option if you are traveling alone.
There is also a staff member on-site, which makes the place feel safer and easier if you need help.
One downside, however, is that there is no real common lounge area. Other than your capsule, there isn’t really a place to sit and relax or eat a meal.
How to Get There from Incheon Airport

If you are traveling on a budget, the two most realistic options are the airport bus or the AREX train.
Airport Bus (6001 or 6015)
- Get off at PJ Hotel Chungmuro stop, which is within walking distance of the hotel
- Travel time: about 1 hour 10 minutes
- Fare: 17,000 KRW
AREX All-Stop Train
- Travel time: about 1 hour 30 minutes
- Fare: 4,750 KRW (from ICN Terminal 1, with T-money card)
- Transfer to Line 4 at Seoul Station
The AREX All-Stop train is the cheapest option. The AREX Express train costs more than double and only saves about 15 minutes.

Capsule Room Overview

The hotel floors are separated by gender:
- 1st floor – Male guests
- 2nd floor – Female guests
At check-in, you receive a lanyard-style card key. Simply tap the card at the entrance door, and the automatic sliding door opens to a hallway lined with capsule beds.

I was assigned Capsule 113.
Inside the capsule, the bed was neatly prepared and included:
- towel
- indoor slippers
- earplugs

The capsule includes:
- clothes hangers
- light switch
- 220V Korean power outlet
If you are traveling from the US or Japan, you will likely need a universal travel adapter.
You can rent a travel adapter from the front desk with a refundable deposit.

The mattress was surprisingly comfortable, and the capsule size felt adequate even for my height (178 cm / 5’10”).
Each capsule has a blackout curtain, which provides complete privacy once closed. With the blackout curtain and earplugs provided, you can enjoy a surprisingly quiet and private sleeping environment.
Luggage Storage

The luggage storage system is somewhat unconventional.
You are supposed to store your luggage underneath the capsule bed. Some guests simply leaned their backpacks in front of their capsules.

There are also a few lockers near the front desk, but they are very small and cannot fit large suitcases.
If you are traveling with a big suitcase, this could be slightly inconvenient.
Shared Bathrooms & Showers

The bathrooms and showers were very clean and well maintained.
There are two shower stalls located near the entrance.
Inside the shower stall, there is a clever feature: a transparent waterproof box where you can place your clothes while showering so they don’t get wet.
Amenities provided:
- shampoo
- conditioner
- body wash
- hair dryer at the sink area
During busy mornings, you may need to wait briefly for the shower.
Things to Do Nearby: Exploring Myeongdong

Since the hotel is only one subway stop from Myeongdong, it’s extremely easy to explore the area.
Nearby attractions include:
- Myeongdong Cathedral
- famous Korean street food markets

Pros & Cons
Pros
- Very clean property
- Excellent location (1 minute from Chungmuro Station)
- Helpful and friendly staff
- Affordable price for solo travelers
Cons
- Very limited luggage lockers
- No lounge or common area
- Automatic door vibration may cause slight noise near entrance capsules
Tip: If possible, request a capsule further away from the entrance door.
Conclusion
L YOUNG Inn Capsule Hotel Myeongdong is a solid budget option for solo travelers who want a clean, private, and conveniently located place to stay in Seoul. While it is not actually in the heart of Myeongdong, being right next to Chungmuro Station makes it easy to reach Myeongdong, Seoul Station, and other major parts of the city. I especially liked the clean shower facilities, the privacy of the capsule, and the affordable price.
That said, this is still a simple capsule hotel, so it may not be the best choice if you are traveling with large luggage or want a lounge area to relax in. But if your priorities are location, cleanliness, privacy, and value, L YOUNG Inn is definitely worth considering for a short stay in Seoul.
